About the artist

Jiří Jaromír Kubát

born 22 February 1945, Prague

• completed apprenticeship as a lathe operator
• completed GCE (General Certificate of Education)
• attended numerous courses and workshops on photography, art history and aesthetics
• worked in different research and development departments
• now working int the Department of Geothermics of the Institute of Geophysics of the Academy of Sciences
• has been making photographs since his youth; at present specializing on the aerial photograph
• started to make assemblages and montages in the 70´s
